25 years of opportunities for children in South Africa
For over 25 years, we have been supporting children and young people in Cape Town, South Africa. What began as a small, heartfelt initiative has grown into a network of ten educational and social programmes that create new opportunities every day and help young people realise their potential.
Our work on the ground.
The Kinderhilfe Kapstadt Trust initiates, supports and works alongside 10 educational and social projects in under-resourced Townships around Cape Town.
Our partner projects operate directly within their communities – in areas such as Imizamo Yethu, Vrygrond, Capricorn, Khayelitsha and Calitzdorp. They create safe spaces for early childhood development, after-school support, youth programmes, music education and holistic development.
Our focus is not on short-term aid, but on building sustainable structures that create long-term opportunities for children.

Responsibility and transparency
Since 2024, the Kinderhilfe Kapstadt Trust has been a formally registered foundation. Donations are managed transparently and used where they can have the greatest impact.
Our work is based on long-term partnerships, clear responsibilities and personal commitment – in South Africa, Germany and Switzerland. Tax-deductible donation receipts can be issued in Germany, Switzerland and South Africa.
